History about Doñarepa and origin of Arepas in Colombia:
The Colombian territory, since pre-Hispanic times, has been an important key to the development of corn. The environmental, sociocultural, and technological characteristics present in the regions of the country have generated conditions for the development of varieties, races, native ecotypes of corn and hybrids, which have adapted to climatic conditions, pests, diseases, and water availability.
